Complete the following sections of the Unit of Study using the link on the Unit of Study Page Template page: Key vocabulary, differentiation strategies (for all student learners), Depth of Knowledge, Institute for Learning (IFL) Stratgies / Research based Strategies, and Teaching Strategies.

Collaboration tools assignment 1: Explore the collaboration tools listed below. You will need to investigate at least one of the tools thoroughly in order to provide an analysis of the tool for the Discussion Forum 8 assignment.
1. Wikis Wikis in Plain English - produced by Common Craft. A simple explanation of what a wiki is, and how it might be used. 3 minutes well spent! Wikispaces for Educators - Wikispaces provides free wikis for teachers. This wiki is hosted on wikispaces. Examples of Wikis used in education: a Lemony Snicket wiki 8 Ways to use School Wikis: Article posted on Tech and Learning Cool Cat Teacher: Vicki Davis is a teacher and the IT director at Westwood Schools in Camilla, Georgia. Vicki co-created four award winning international wiki-centric projects.
2. Blogs: A blog is a website, maintained by one or several people,with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video. Blogs in Plain English - produced by Common Craft. How they work and why they matter. Edublogs: free blog service for educators. KidBlog: Safe, free and simple blogs for students. Wallwisher is an Internet application that allows people to express their thoughts on a common topic easily. A wall is basically the 'web page' where people actually post messages. 4. PrimaryWallhttp://primarywall.com/
Primary wall is a sticky note tool internet application similar to wallwisher. Geared to the primary grades.
5. Google Apps: we have been using Google Docs in this course all along. Check out what other tools are available through Google: shared calendars, email, websites, Forms, Google Art Project, google earth, body (requires Chrome), etc. Everything Google ebook. Edmondo is a free, secure, social learning platform for teachers, students, schools and districts. Edmodo provides teachers and students with a secure and easy way to post classroom materials, share links and videos, and access homework, grades and school notices. Teachers and students can store and share all forms of digital content – blogs, links, pictures, video, documents, presentations, and more. There are also special institutional features for schools and districts that can be accessed for free by administrators

Glogster EDU is the leading global education platform for the creative expression of knowledge and skills in the classroom and beyond. We empower educators and students with the technology to create GLOGS - online multimedia posters - with text, photos, videos, graphics, sounds, drawings, data attachments and more. 8. TitanPadhttp://titanpad.com/
TitanPad is free and does not require user names and passwords. It allows document collaboration as well as a chat function. We used this tool for our online chat Monday, April 4. If you participated in Monday's online chat, please look at a different collaboration tool.
9. Twiddla http://www.twiddla.com/ Twiddla is an online collaboration tool that's easy to use and doesn't require any downloads. It’s free for anybody to use, and they offer primo accounts for educators. It's like having an interactive whiteboard on top of any web page or uploaded image. It’s a Blank white board that you can mark up but interact with the web page at the same time – all in real time, with people from all over the world or just your chosen few.
Presentation tools assignment 2: Choose one of the presentation tools listed below to create a sample presentation. Post your sample to your personal website. This sample should serve as a model for students. This would be a good time to create something related to your Unit of Study. Remember, this is about your students using these presentation tools; not you!
1. Podcasting: a recorded program of audio or video made available over the Internet as a file that can be downloaded to a computer or portable device. *If you choose to create a podcast, please create a podcast you might use in your Unit of Study. Podcasts can be used in a variety of ways: sharing information, story telling, music, and assignments. You may also want to use a Podcast to provide additional instruction for students who need access to information in an auditory way. Podcasting in Plain English.
